Points in CSB

What are the points for? In the end of season will they be converted to Challenge Stones ?http://forums.gogames.me/static/image/smiley/default/victory.gif

they basically are for the standard ranking, the higher your points the further you are on the ranking list. challenge stones are acquired by completing rows of enemies. random event rewards, etc...

So, points it is just for ranking, and you can't obtain Challenge Stones using points, right ?
