SWP Upgrade

So I've heard that when you upgrade a previously modified SWP partner, then the modifications will reset for the upgraded partner. I was just wondering if this is true + if the new evolution system resets on upgrading an SWP partner

i read somewhere that the evolution lvl stays when you upgrade. But that was from just one person. It would be good to know from many others too.
