Level 70 Vanguard
I saw a lot of people suggesting to get Komamura instead of Shinji, but why? Because he has more HP?Sajin's skill gives him 30% more DEF, Shinji's skill gives to him 35% (I guess) more chance of Block and increase his attack.
I don't know, but for me, I think Block is better than DEF, no? I mean, DEF of course you will take less damage, but Block you will take even less damage, is not worth it?
And I have another question, is there any Server Emulator for this game? I just want a safe and fast way to try builds before make them in my account.
Trying new builds in this game is kinda boring, because I will need to get more Stones, I will need to level up the Partner because when you recruit a level 50 partner, he comes at level 30 and I'm level 60 atm, and I don't have any Epic XP Book.
And of course, you have the risk of the build doesn't work well.

For your main questions, shinji is not as good. Unless you have alot of stones and the right zanpakuto you will not be using a vanguard to attack. You instead want them to have as much survivability as possible. Komamura's combination of health and increased defence allows him to last longer. Shinji's block is still only a % to block and it can be reduced by enemies who have break defence..ie if you have 100% block chance but the enemy has 90% break defence chance, you have a 10% chance to block. Defence is much harder for the enemy to reduce in both pvp and pve as there are fewer skills that reduce it and no stones that reduce defence.
long story short, sajin is the best tank until you can get ichigo unless you plan on using high attack stones with a zanpakuto like hyourinmaru, then shinji and staark are better. for the first part i can tell you; most people choose komamura because he's cheap to maintain, you can go with it till lvl110 even np; and he doesn't require super high stones to make him viable, as for shinji he's an attacking vg, who needs a lot of both attaking n defending stones, ie more expensive to prepare. btw if your project is to get stark shinji can be the first stem while preparing for stark Hm.
I was going to get Komamura, but a friend suggest me to get Shinji because block is better, what he is thinking, I'm a free player, I don't have too much stones. :C
