It is a Aura ability, just like every other Aura ability in the game. It applies to all. Shinso, Toshiro, Cute Ori, Mugetsu, Yama, Sexy Yoruichi, Demon Ichigo, Shinigami Shinji, Dark Rukia, Haku Byakuya, Shinigami Urahara, etc.
I am not sure why you would think it works differently then the other 20 auras in the game, but it doesn't. Yama is very popular in China for this reason. It is one of the reasons why we won't see his price drop, same with Shinso, and Isshin, etc.

Yama gets added to Accelerate Modify in the next update of the event. 5 a day is without you reseting, and that still is only a month for the 2nd star.
