I'm not sure is this conversation over, or did you even look and find an viable advice since there's been more fighting than anything, so I'll lay it down by my humble opinion.
The only waste about ulq. coupons would be actually recruiting ulq. and working on him just because you thought there'd be a purpose of him before. I got 400 of his coupons just laying around, possibly for bond or smth, but that's all. No theard shed.
Also nobody even bothered to look at his BP, i don't think you're even close to 115, and ulq. R2, so we're talking about just regural dick ulqu... Yama wins for sure, don't even think twice about it nor feel sorry for that coupons, if you want to be a real savage just sell them and laugh it out. Also note that ulq. takes just as much as time to modify as yama...
As for hime, fortify bonuses don't work in ES and Ryoka, so you could always get her, mix it up, and try her and kisuke with zabimaru or whatever zan. works, not sure at the moment, I'd need to check buffs, her skill says attack but it's something else, so you'd need to be sure that buffs combine not overwrite, and you could possibly do better like that then with zangetsu and his buff combined with kisuke and just any old dick like jushiro or slowpoke rukia, also note that hime's block buff could help you pull off a 2-3 in ryoka so...

yah... dont judge pow with stat.
upgraded ulq is far beta than Yama.
But Yama has beta skill. furry restrict and burn while Rec Ulq burn.
i have Yama and i can say that it´s powerfull ....... as u said he has fury restriction and burn.... but he also do laceration
