It will then take you to a screen that looks like this: http://puu.sh/nEa3a/9064f038f4.jpg as you can see what the tab says, doing these things will make you more powerful, slowly but surely, follow these and keep up to date with it ^^

As others said, alliance campaign and simply attending daily events ( http://puu.sh/nEabT/702220fd1c.jpg http://puu.sh/nEadp/c850aad6c5.jpg) everyday will help you upgrade those things, as you obtain exp and silver from these daily events, alongside other rewards ^^
