So why is it everyone thought he was weak?  Been looking at AOE assaulters, and he looks fantastic IMO...  put him with a fury builder and he hits for 180% AOE every round, very strong, very quick, reduces 50 fury from assaulters and vangs every round, and casts chaos on enemy supports every round...

No, Koga is great as an assaulter.

It's just nobody likes Koga.

The other reason is that he is mainly pvp oriented. You would have to trade for Renji's death skill when we are expecting the assaulter is going to die anyway in the higher ranks.

Sure, you can put wisdom defense on him, but you have to actually have the stones for it. If you can get him to survive, that would be great, but it means more money. And soon enough, they should supposedly be releasing orange partners, so it's not high on the priority list for investments.

Yeah, assaulters dont really stand a chance atm. With all the strong fast support partners out there.
