they could combine the stats of both and the attack effects combined.

I would see them merging, taking the better of the two on each stat.

Still, sounds a bit complicated for our simple devs who steal all their partner design ideas from somewhere else.

really, senbon and Muramasa might be better i think...  but i don't have Senbon, lol
