The tone of the first lyrics sung in the song are in a "sad" tone if you listen closely :P
It's quite conflicting cause the rest of the song is quite hope-full and uplifting, but the first two sentences sung are sung in a tone that gives the whole song a peace-full sad but uplifting feeling.
Btw, I have not listened to the lyrics, this is just about the tone of the singer and the tempo / tone of the music :) Pretty decent video as well as a nice song :) enjoy the tone but the dub-beat always gets me lol, I'm more classically inclined ;P
