Here is what I was decribing in action. Kaiser vs Mayuri.

See I always thought block hit through invincibility also because of the interactions in your first BR with the other partners.
They just received invincibility from Hiki which lasts 1 round. Hiki is invincible during your turn while the other partners are invincible the enemy turn, why is that?
Edited because I was mistaken about round counting.

The invincibility buff is applied to everyone after Hiki uses her skill. Since Hiki turn is done when she receives the buff, the block wont hurt her. The rest of her team will have the buff at the start of their turn, so after they attack, they lose the buff and can take damage.

This is roughly how the BR went.
Essentially Hiki ignores block dmg only because of flawed combat logic. The invincibility is applied when a partner finishes the current round in which it was applied when it should be applied after the combat sequence finishes to keep her more inline with the rest of the team.
Round 1:
Hiki Skill - Receives invincibility, ignores block dmg
Rest of team attacks/skills - Get hit by block dmg even though they have the buff icon but they dont actually becaome immune until after their 1st action finishes inbluding potential enemy blocks.
Enemy attacks - The rest of your partners are now technically invincible and ignore dmg
Round 2: Invincibility is gone the moment any partner initiaties an attack - game continues.
Basically what Im saying is, either Hiki shouldnt ignore the block dmg, only the dmg from the enemy attacks when they attack or Oetsu should ignore the block dmg as well.

As far as buffs go, 1 round means 1 action. Lets use Ryujin Jakka's defense buff as an example, it lasts 2 rounds. Let's say my team has 3 supporters, Haschwalth, Nemu and Senjumaru and they are all faster than anyone on the other team.
Haschwalth goes first, his buff drops to 1 round remaining. Next is Senjumaru, she also now has 1 round remaining on buff. Next goes Nemu, at the start of her turn, my Haschwalth gets an extra round from combo rate, now Nemu has 1 round on buff. Haschwalth attacks again from combo, his defense buff is now gone before the enemy team has started attacking.
The visual icon may not go away when you see the blocking happening, but they had already used their turn so the buff was gone. In the fight after Oetsu uses his skill, Mayuri swings at the assaulters, but can't hit them due to they are still invincible. After they attack Mayuri, they lose their buff.

So to maximize the value of invincibility that lasts 1 round, you need Hiki to go before anyone, and the rest of your partners to be slower than the enemy team.
