SWP partner upgrade question

I never got to upgrade a SWP partner ... i got only purple Grimmjow and currently i'm working on aizen (1080 coupons first recruit) so my question is ... If i reincarnate and put some stuff on him after that i upgrade him would he have the same things or i need to do all again?
