nah, tensa is still good zan and one of best thing that appeared in ubp, just not worth anything near to 40k gold
It's you who are talking as if tensa was some boss, being inferior to katen in PvP and being stomped by katen in PvE I think it's laughable to call him 2nd best zan just because of void, katen indeed lose a lot of its shine in void but tbh the only zan who makes significant difference in void is RJ (and maybe minazuki with right setup), in early void (when you are still weak) what's matter is if zan attacks whole team and for how much damage (both katen and tensa are equal on this field) and later when player is strong enough to make damage not only from zan the differences in damage is often too huge and buff from tensa wouldn't make big difference when compared to katen (I mean, it wouldn't let you be higher in ranking), especially since for non-RJ users most of damage comes often from death mod or eventually block, and direct attacks (which is only thing boosted by tensa) play smaller role, on top of that katen users get more exp and silver from PvE so they can participate in void earlier and be a little bit stronger so katen also makes up for lack of void potential to some point that way:D and overall as I said before until it's RJ, zan doesn't matter in void that much:P
Also I don't get why you ignore existence of minazuki:o, it may be failed RJ counter but it is still pretty good zan who is better than tensa in PvP and as for PvE it's still possible to use sogyo no kotowari or zabimaru, tensa will be better in PvE of course but he won't be that much better to value him more than mina (may be debatable but personally I would prefer to use mina rather than tensa).
So IMO tensa is 4th best zan and depending on setup it may be not that much better than senbon. After all devs aren't that generous to put 2nd best zan in ubp.:P
Main argument for tensa being great zan is that it's balanced and it's true. But it's not that tensa is great on every field, it's just that it isn't bad at any but at the same time it doesn't stand out in any way.Surely not top-tier zan worth 40k and here's my main problem with you saying it was worth it. I myself have bought katen for about 34k and I'm still regretting it:Q even though she didn't appear in ubp so far and chances for her in near future are close to 0% so I just can't understand someone saying that tensa was worth it even if tensa wouldn't appear in ubp:o. While he did and it was expectable since senbon (zan from same league as tensa) and b.renji as well appeared so for me tensa in ubp was just matter of time:P It happened earlier than I expected but I would be actually surprised if it tensa wouldn't appear in ubp this year:o
