you unlock the items with honor but you can buy them with gold or coupons (at least you can do that in chinese serv, i havent tried that here ;P) and you can save your free coupons to buy something :P
The game is really new. I'm sure in time they will add in stuff to get coupons/gold via ad watching or surveys and such.

i'm doing my char withou spend money and i think my char is really good for f2p lvl 59 94k bp and good for pvp till rank 20 (at rank 20 they are very strong maybe because they are all cashers) so u right "not all needs money"
Agree with Toyo but still should add little more for the f2p people (I am VIP) just does not seem right to dash their hopes. How ever I am glad to see that coupons work. So far the prices I have seen in honor shop are a bit high for coupons.
Not saying get rid of the gold prices (after it is needed to pay for game maintenance and upkeep) but be more realistic with it is all.

we should suggest that we can buy items using honor points , to buy spirit stones , and other special items.. i unlock comrade contract 10 with 1500 honor points .. wtf contract x10 950 gold !!!!! what game is this 28500 gold for contract 300 just to recruit 1 crew? 1 battle for 2 bright stone and 50 honor points :@ :Q i love this game but the other game features is no good for free players even high vips, look at this

Sigh...I hope they add another version of these items. I thought honor points meant they could buy stuff. I guess it was too good to be true...
well this is only because here they are too greedy (sorry but thats the truth ;P) in both places the prices are the same but here they dont add Grimjow (60 com contracts) and Ulquiorra (180) they arent an really great chars but is something :P i hope they gonna add the event to get Tenza Zangetso or the other Zampakuto ( i cant remember his name :L) spending only vit :loveliness: btw you need to spend a lot of vit to get them :lol but even if you cant, you can get other great stuff for free :lol so this game have a lot of great free stuff but they dont want to add that :@ (is only, copy, translate paste) because are free:L
