Hello, how does aid rate work ? how does it split the damage could someone explain.

So i have BWB and Kirinji as my supports and i have 3 assaulters so 2-3-0 formation. Lets say enemy's hvi uses attack he skills my bwb but not my kirinji even tho my bwb is like 4 or 5 times tankier than kirinji?

so if Hvi hits 1 million to kirinji does my bwb take like 50% of that damage so 500k.
And and bwb takes less damage from the hvi attack but takes more damage from the aid so he dies and kirinji wont ?

Not sure what i even typed but i hope someone understands. Or if he can just explain how it works.

I used to have a hard time understanding aid rate too, from what I tested I understand it like this:
When a character triggers "aid"  he is going to split the damage he takes with the character with the most hp in your formation.  That can result in weak characters surviving and strong characters dying from AOE  if you are not careful, because the strong character will take a high extra damage by aiding the weak character in addition of the damage he received on his own.  The best solution is to have a big hp tank vg to be sure to absorb all the damage from AOE or to ban weak character with high aid rate (I used to have this problem when I was still using Urahara causing perfectly good partner to die with his stupid 20% aid rate,).
Example (the figures are made up but it is the idea of a situation I experimented)  main  (500000 hp), hiki( 1000000 hp), urahara (600000 hp) takes an AOE :

if Urahara does not trigger aid rate :  Urahara takes  1000000 dmg from AOE  and dies,  Hiki takes 500000 and survives , main takes 450000 dmg and survives
if  Urahara triggers aid rate : he passes extra 500000 (half of his damage) to hiki because hiki got most hp  than main, hiki  ends up taking  1000000 total dmg which kills her, Uaraha survives with 100000 hp, main takes same damage as before

yes if you make sure your tank has the most hp in your formation he will take half the damage from partners triggering aid.Are you using Ichimonji?

Yeah, i am i thought about using 2-3-0 but that aid rate fucks things up probably gonna run 1-3-1 then.

Aid rate increases the chances of Aid occurring. When Aid triggers, it cuts the damage received by 1/10 and shares that same damage with the partner with the next highest HP, likely to be the vanguard who generally has the highest HP. In total, it's like receiving 2/10 of the damage you should of taken, but it's split with another partner. This can be good or bad. More often good, but I've seen Aid end up getting two partners killed at once.

in that case I think it is the best to run  a vg with high hp in my csb there is a guy running 1-3-1 with ichmonji and his highest hp is ichibei, the aid rate really benifits to him with ichibei soaking all damage. Alternatively you could try run  2-3-0 and tailor the hp of your team to set the less important characters offensive wise to have most hp (which will be a death flag in a rather counter intuitive manner), but that probably difficult to achieve with Kirinji
