I have topped up some gold and I have free moves to make but I have no idea if I need to purchase anything to make the moves or am I supposed to be able to just make the moves?

Sode is the Zanpakuto you claim when top-up at least 1 gold, and it gives you 888 gold, 10 hogus enhance, 10 assistand mod card

I topped-up just to test this out for you, and it works as intended. Have in mind that in case your realm has met the requirements of 15 total collected Zanpakutos, in order to acquire the Sode no Shirayuki you must collect at least one Zanpakuto before that.

Okay still doesn't explain the puzzles part of the event. That is what I am confused about.

Yes, but this requirements are daily. If you topped-up 800 gold yesterday, you can't claim today's also. So that's why you need 9 more, everyday it needs at least 15 people in your realm to top-up.
My realm gets the 15 top-ups in about 30mins-1h after the "day" begin.

Thanks for testing, but I tested it out myself, I'm doing every bankai power.. just had some suspicion if it works to claim Sode or no, because I do prior gold stacking over everything else. I top-up 100 in bargain sale, and only 5 in bankai. That's my strat ^_^

Seems like the puzzle part is bugged or devs decided to change it cause of the many freebies the event gave.
