im curious about the growth rate thing on the soul skill page if anyone could explain how it works for me does it mean that when you get the growth increase it gives you that bonus for each lvl youve got already or does it mean that youll get slightly more of a increase from that lvl on?

As you should've already noticed you do get a tad bit of BP increased after unlocking a new "Point". And that means it increases what you currently have. If you were to get 0.2% Growth Rate in Wisdom and you have for example: 20k Wisdom. 2% would be 400. So 0,2 would then be 40. Meaning you get 40 more wisdom in total. And it increases the total the more Wisdom you get from Soul Map. I'm pretty sure this is how it works and if not, please correct me.

growthrate for characters: it means that, the higher your growthrate is, the more will your stats rise when you level up.
growthrate for skills: its the strength of the attack
If your usual damage is 10000, that makes it 100%
if the skill hs a growth rate of 150%, it means it will deal 15000 damage
i believe that is how it works. growthrate is simply a weird term for it

right so if my characters growth rate is higher lvl then other peoples my stats should be better i.e. if i were to get all the growths to turn my name gold at lvl 50 i would have better stats then someone who didnt change there name till 65 by the time i was 65?

so condesending of you but for the sake of asking when i unlock the node in skill page for the stat growth increase(str,agi,wis...) i wanted to know if it was like the other chars you get is it a each time you lvl bonus or is it a one time only when you activate it bonus becuase if its a each time you lvl bonus wouldnt your stats end up higher the earlier you unlock them i.e 2 lvl 100 chars one went gold name at lvl 70 and the other went gold name at lv 50 both are now lvl 100 wouldnt the one who got the growth rates earlier (lvl50) have better stats then the other?

Your main character's basic stats would indeed be more than one that does not have gold at the lvl of 65. But he still have the 15 levels higher which would still leave him with more than you. And no it would not. It scales with your level. If both were 100 and 1 had unlocked it at 70 and one at 50 the basic would still be the same. What would make the difference between those is the stats gained through other sources.

ty for a better explanation but the math still points the other way (at least to me)
both started the game getting +2 one hit lvl75 before getting and additional +2 till lvl100
(2 x 75 =150)+(4 x 25=100) = 250 by lvl 100
the other got +2 till lvl50 before getting the same additional +2 till lvl100
(2 x 50=100)+(4 x 50=200) = 300 by lvl 100

This is how I see it. Even if the lvl 50 one got it beforehand he would indeed get the bonus/stats/bp first. However he would get less each level (of course it would increase per level) The one who got it at 75 would get more bp/stats which would even it out when both were 75/100.

That's not what I meant. My point is that in the end it actually makes no difference when you add the extra %rates

so ok some people have stated to me that the stat point increases are retro active so you would receive the same amount that everyone else received no matter when you got the point node in the skill tree but if that was true then wouldnt that eleminate character diversity?
