I've been wondering... there's the ghost blade class that attacks physically. And there's the Kido type class, that attacks with kido/strategy attack.

And then there's the Spirit Blade class... but what are they there for? They attack physically too, right? But since there's already the ghost type class which does the same, there is not really a need for spirit blade class , isn't it?
So I've been wondering: what's the deal with Spirit blade type? What's special about them, what's makes it different from the other two classes besides the name, weapon and the mere fact that it is different?
I thought that it would be logically if they are some type of physically-kido-hybrid, but they aren't, right?
I just thought, that there must be some value to this class too, gameplay-wise. Otherwise, they are just plain useless and superfluous.

Any Ideas?

Oh, and another question on a side note: why would a vanguard need extra strategy attack, that almost every vanguard has a mod for strategy attack? It would make sense to me if it was strategy defense... but strategy attack?

The strategy attack thing on VGs is typo. Its actually strategy defense. Spirit Blades are for people who dont want to play Ghost Blades I guess...there doesn't seem to be a difference except most assault partners cannot use their weapons and the look different from the Ghost blade main. MNost people just ignore them unless you want to look unique or just don't know better.

Spirit blade should have been some kind of hybrid between physical and magical attacks. Characters like Rukia, Momo and Urahara would have been perfect for this class, instead they are Kido which implies they only use magical attacks. Unohana and Inoue would be great for Kido since that's the only thing they use in the anime.
For some reason Kenpachi is spirit blade, god knows why..

inb4 yhwach or the strongest version of ichigo is spirit blade just to "balance"

no, manic are vangs, and they use ghost blade

Manic is the vanguard weapon type but they still use ghost blades

It's because we got two types of physical weapons.

Most physical partners u will get are ghostblade and use that type of weapon.

it's to enable more strategic choices in classes too... For example the reason u pick kido would be for higher vip's that want event partners since most event assaulters are better than supports u wanna go 1-3-1 and then to not have to split spirit stones and gear on too many chars, u go kido for main.

Ghostblade/spiritblade can be for f2p or low vip since for pvp the tavern and swp gives u good supports for a 1-2-2 team.

The choice between Ghostblade and spiritblade is a choice between gear tactics. If u pick ghostblade it's because u can go all out on ghostblade gear with fortifying and infuse spirit and still be able to use it on your other assaulter when u get better gear on the one you focus on.

However the reasoning for picking a spiritblade would be that you will be able to get gear faster simply due to u not needing 2x ghostblade mats to forge them, but only 1x and then you wont waste the mats u get for spiritblade weapons.

In UN it's exactly the same, however there it's easier to get common mats and u spirit forge with the same mats, so there's more reason to go for the equal to spiritblade there than there is here.

Atleast that's how I see it, hope it helped

ghost balde has more hp and speed than spirit blade, the only diffrence between them honestly.

This is the reason why I always play as f2p or low vip on 1 or 2 servers for 1-2 months before making my main and topping up bigtime on games like these

if you look at ichigo the first gold charater most ppl gets he has an advantage in speed (what weapon did he have again? exactly...) and he can be compared with swp grimjow
on the other hand we have hard hitters like renji and cempachi using ghost blade
as for the main its no difference at all except apearence and skill names

TBH most spirit blade partners are garbage. The one exception I can think of is Shura kenpachi from Cross server. Ichigo does not even come close to Grimjow....that the silliest thing I have ever heard. Hes more usless than some purple characters like Tavern Renji.
