no one can explain how growth works but i can give u a hint or two
the higher the growth the better bonus you get when you level up/use hygu/stones etc ... so the higher the growth the more dmg/def/spd/hp that you get

growths just means potential. so like suzu said, the stronger you get, the higher potential you have. ( i.e. more dmg, agility etc)
