I'm gonna have Shin Toshiro, my character and Shinigami Kensei definitely, but can't decide who else. If I get Yamamoto I'll use tavern yoruichi, but if I get one of the others I'd like some tips for who might be good with them (I don't like doubles of characters). I'm not VIP 4 or higher so SWP kenpachi might not help me much.

Any of those two ass will do. S.yoruichi is also good for solo non boss battles in hollow map bcs of her skill.

But you might want to wait for some time, the prices might drop, cause there's a lot of new characters around. Or some other then those two might become afordable...

btw. won't you hit vip 5 or smth if you recruit shinigami kensei. Or are you talking about tavern one. If it's even't you might want to get swp kenpachi and then noza if not, h.ichigo might suit you better.

You're probably right about the VIP level. I'm gonna get shini kensei, but idk the gold requirements for each VIP level. (Actually I just don't remember).

Shinigami kensei alone is expensive, but others are usually cheaper so preferably below $200 for other characters.

I'm doing ryoka now so i can't check, but i think for vip 5 is 5000 gold. And since you're geting s.kensei, then you'll probably hit vip 6 (i think it's 10 000 g) bcs s. kensei is around 12k gold. Depens from where you want to get him, and if you want to obtain him through top up, you can do it even not, there's some crazy rebates, from halloween event, gold roullette, 50% rebate from that usuall gold pot.

I think he's in haloween for 24k top up. When you finish you might be left with kensei and 50k gold still to be spent, and could then get som really op partners...

Hollowed of cuz, stark has long defence bt his A0E is his key but since you have two AOE character(MC 10skill and Kensei) you need a more defensive vanguard to take any hit coming after silence and the rest if they are not dead.
high survivablility in hme/csb and the rest

It would help to know your Zanpakuto(s).

At least on Vanguard, they're quite decisive imo.

Shin toshi? or Vang Toshi? Shin is a support... if you mean vang toshi, your middle row is good, and I'd put some supports in the back... CSB Aizen/Shinzo are good fury control party members, Tavern Aizen/Gin to help reduce fury and help stun some foes Kensei can't stop, Retsu Unohona Kenpachi and Jushiro for raw kido damage and back row protection... If your set on a 1-3-1 party, I'd say put Shinzo or CSB Aizen in the back, and for your third assaulter, a new one is soon to come out I hear, a red one, based on the price of the recent red additions, I'd guess he will be about $300ish and probably very OP. Pan Grim can stick with your fury regen assaulters you got going and can help destroy vanguards. BTW, if you have SWP toshi... either upgrade him ASAP, or get rid of him, he's too easy to counter as is..... Senbon, Vang toshi, Shini Kensei, main, Pan Grim, and Shinzo should be a very very solid team... shinzo to help control and fix any fury reduction that may hurt your fury machine while dealing good kido damage, Vang Toshi is very good for the price, grim for vanguards (laceration is a bitch) kenesi to boost your assaulters, and shut down opponents, and main with last ability to tack on more AOE damage... If you have T1, I think Kensei would be your best choice if for no other reason to shut down opponents ASAP

Thanks for so much insight. Pretty valid points, and my reason for toshiro at all is because he's a second favorite.

one of the biggest problems I've seen on this game is where people go pick their favorites from the anime instead of picking the best party they can find... either way, you have a good start at a great party... if you can, I'd love to see some screenshots of your party, I like to see how other people build, and how other partners I don't have grow. It helps me better understand how to build parties and the likes XD

Eh if their favs are op chars it works out

... otherwise it can just be a fail waitin to happen... half my recruits are done since I like someone, but my event chars are who I need, BUT if one comes out that I love.. he might make it to the team

That isn't a problem with the player's decision making but a problem with the devs making some characters shit and some characters OP based entirely on the biases of the devs. All characters should be equally good and viable so that players can choose based on who their favorites are.

If all partners are just as good as the others, there is no reason to top up for better ones, or to level up for better partners from the tavern. If all partners were even, there would be no reason to ever switch from the first partners you get. You have them the longest and therefore could make them the strongest. Remember your playing a video game and just like in others, just because a partner looks cooler, or has cooler weapons or skill animation, does not mean they are strong in any way.
