how can i upgrade my main character from blue level to purple? then, how can i upgrade zanpakutou from original to shikai? is it by cultivating?

upgrade zanpakutou >> by cultivating zanpakutou

Upgrade character quality-spending SOULS by getting it through defeating enemy for the first time in trials,instances,stages and beauty game.

Upgrade zanpakuto-cultivating it by souls you can get it in SOUL HUNT.
