I, uh... I dunno if this quite adds up... am I just being a dumb and not thinking of something here? This was the first time I've gotten to top up on all 5 days and almost didn't get to because it was giving me decline errors on the last day.

You have to top up over a 1,000 gold to get rebate.
If you top up every day you will get 5% extra on your rebate.
5% over 96 rebate = 96 / 100*105=100.8>100 rebate.
