i got items for them but when i use once instead of taking the item and raising my bag slots it takes item and gold/coupons and raises bag slots by 10

It take certain amount of the item to expand your bagpack by 10 slots.
System will inform you need how many gold/coupon to make up the balance, if you have not enough items.
