the proportion of the left arm compared to the right arm is a bit off, the right is slightly longer so it throws the eye a little, but the shading is excellent and over all it's a pretty decent job

Don't stress about votes, the comments are where you'll get the most constructive crit which'll only help you improve - no one improves from being told they're good or bad, only in what they're doing right and where to be better ;)

I voted good but I feel like using better materials could improve it also. Like mechanical drawing pencils for sharper lines and sketch paper would help brighten the image as it seems that ruled paper has some stress marks in places

Well, ppl is voting for bad and nobody tells me why, so i posted a comment saying " why you voted for "bad and what should i improve?" I'm always trying to improve, i'm gonna post another drawing with more details tonight... maybe XD Well, thank you very much!

A trick I used to use is get a bic mechanical pencil one of the crappy ones. And some scratch paper. Angle the pencil and do a rubbing to sharpen the point. Then use it for crisp lines. And resharpen it as needed.

lol no prob, I love to draw as well so I'm aware of the pit traps of proportion!

And never ever put "bad" as an option for poll here, because the trolls will jump on that without a thought and you'll have no crit and sit thinking that you're terrible when actually you're not

Just keep working it hey! then you will always improve. Also post your stuff on DeviantArt, there you will find many aspiring artists and many amazing artists who give great tutorials and tips.

Well, i think it's original :/ i don't know if somebody drew the same thing as me, with the same position, the same facial expression or the position of the swords, so.. yeah, it's original, i only watched some parts of the anime.

little tip tho when it comes to straight swords there is no shame in uging help to make a straight line ;-)
i do so myself all the time when i draw stuff

I asked because I myself have drawn some copies of already existing drawings just for hobby, to entertain myself a while, im no artist

Well then I think the angles of the blades could be improved, the black one gives the impression that the sharp edge is against his shoulder and (while in SAO it shouldnt matter 'cause they're inside a game) if you were to get that picture out of context, putting someone in the same pose for example, it should be cutting him

And the blue one gives the impression (looking at the guard of the sword) of having its sharp edge pointing downwards but the blade itself seems at another angle, pointing towards kirito in a 45 degree angle or maybe just too thin

Overall, save the things i pointed (and some other things others have pointed already and im not gonna repeat) the drawing seems good, with good colors if maybe not uniform and good shades and the body and face looks good side face (which is something that always resists me

) and good proportions overall (except the already mentioned right arm hahaha)

P.S.: The left hand's fist seems like it has the handle of the sword going through it instead of be holding it. Still much better than the first thing I ever drew which I can show you if you want

Edit: sorry if there are some things that you cant understand completely, im not all that good at english, its not my main language

The drawing is actually good.

* Try to draw on a proper paper. Dont waste your time by drawing on notebook pages. It just lowers the quality of your drawing.

*Hair and face are actually the best parts of the drawing, considering its a anime-ish character.

*Try to work on his swords. Make them larger and more realistic.

*I dont know the character, but he seems too skinny Try to make him in normal sizes, maybe?

while i'm unfamiliar with the anime he comes from, and the art classes I've taken have made me a better critic than an artist, so here goes...
both swords are bent, blue one has bad hamon lines
hands are weak, no definition, fingers look twisted, and his left one...  not 1005 sure what's wrong with it
his arms look plastic...  no substance in the elbow (when you bend your arms, clothes bunch up, your arm pushes against itself making creases you would see in this pic...
either his arms are very long, or his waste is very high
for that much muscle showing in the V in his shirt and that hard of a slant off the neck to his shoulders, the rest of him looks way too thin...
looking at him, parts of him look very strong and muscley, and the rest of him looks like he's built like a string bean nerddy type
look at his left hand.. you can tell you thickened it up after you drew it originally, or it looks like you did
and his body is facing us, his head is turned away, but the neck doesn't tell that story

that was just the bad, lots of good as well...  but the biggest good is that you are out there drawing and looking for feedback... the only way to get better is practice, and maybe an art class or two if you aren't in one already.  good job bro, and keep up the hard work!!  also, how old are you?  just curious
