I plan on getting Nel some day and as I am f2p i won't be able to get anyone after her. Also Renji is the only partner I will be able to upgrade. Renji doesn't seem too bad compared to Kenpachi.
Kenpachi his growth rate is 300% vs 180% from Renji, and Renji has 25% extra attack and 25% extra crit, 25% extra crit is pretty useful for low VIP.
Renji's mods do seem nice though, not sure if they are hard to obtain.

so, i have shin renji and am starting it modify him. if i have a 1 or 2 star modify on him when i make him soo renji, does he loose those mods, and if so can i save the modify coupons for after i make him soo? to clarify, if i get the coupons when he is shin, can i stilll use them when he is soo? thanks
