question about top up

Hi there, i have a question, the thing is that i want to gift a friend with some gold in his account, the thing is that I don`t want him to know until he enters in his acc in 1 week aprox... so, the question is the next.... if I top up to recharge his acc, will he receive something like an e-mail because I used my credit card to recharge his acc ? or how it works ( i never recharged so i`m not sure if this is a stupid question )?.
