Yup, my server (the great US s42-44) did this for quite a few people, including myself

before we had a server merge we managed to get 3/4 of our server to get the triple crown title. we had about 5 people left when we got merged.

sounds like what happened to the quincies after our server merge happened. First week of the merge we brought all of the strong quincies into one guild. Not even 2 weeks later half of the guild quit. After a month there was just a few of us left.
