Top up and become a VIP. You get lots of goodies as a VIP such as bonus rewards for topping up, bonus rewards for spending gold, and the ability to skip battle scenes, skip auto battle wait times, etc. Make sure to do all your dailies each day, and participate in events such as ryoka attack, guild war, etc. This is the whole point of becoming a VIP, to get stronger faster than other ppl.

If you plan on being a free user, then there is no shortcut. You will have to grind it out. You can become stronger, but not faster than VIP's could.
