When do you use your Hogyoku Pills?

is there a process to how they work? They are the purple boxes right? if so, ive just used them every time they enter my backpack, no idea what they're doing, help out? xD

Hogyoku pills are used for leveling your hogyoku... what you are talking about is hollows souls and it just accumulates and you can use it as a substitute for leveling any of your soul map.
