Oh I can tell you're new. GG are greedy cunts, if we would get 18k gold for first top up, most people would be running with 2-3 event partners. I'm almost sure it says equivalent or equal to xxx gold but won't bet my gold on it.
Had the same problem as well when i started playing. It doesnt say anything about receive something with the value equal to 18888 gold or anything which would give you the idea.. not to mention even if it said that, those few items are maybe worth 1-2k tops so noone would top up anyway. It is intentionally worded badly so most ppl will understand it that you get 18888 gold for free so they will top up but you get nothing of any real value.
