First thing to know is the shells have their items under them already, so selecting something will not change what's there now. You need to check the thing or things you want then click confirm. Once you get credit for the point shop, you can either hit refresh to change the items under the shells(your items will show on the next set) or choose one click open all which will also refresh the items to your set. Then do the one click open all.
