Dmg rate vs Increase attack [Copy URL]

We have the given situation. We have a random assaulters that have a 300% growth rate skill. 250%modify. And have 1m physical attack.  So, in my mind would be a 7m dmg attack w/o reductions, but is not that simple.
We pair him with 1 support first, that gives 40% dmg rate,  so basically we have another +40%, because adding 40% to 250% would get some 350% wich is nonsense. In the definition of damage rate we can see that dmg rate boost the dmg that comes from the equipment/zanp or skills. But how can we really know what's the exact boost? 1m phyiscal damage, at 290% dmg rate with the skill at 300% growth rate? is this the buff?
We pair him with another support, that gives 40% increase attack, this is more easy to understand, but again, IDK if it's boosting the final attack or the base one?
What's better to add in terms of dmg? Increase Attack or DMG rate?

If it says it boosts attack, it means ATK. However, if it is damage rate, it can be real damage rate or an extra damage multiplier at the end of the damage calculations.

Both stats r important - if u don't have enough attack to exceed opponent's def u won't be able to do any damage ( doesn't matter how much damage rate u have) as well as if u don't have enough damage rate to exceed avoid injury.
For example Ishida and Askin can stack avoid injury rate and when they stacked it u won't be able to do anything even if u have millions of attack  except dots or ignore defence reincarnation.
In my opininon damage rate ( that we have in char's stats and damage rate from any buffs ) multiplies your final damage ( after difference between your attack and opponent's def was calculated ). Kinda firstly it calculates attack\defence and after that damage rate\ avoid injury. I don't insist that i'm right, at least i c it this way.
