Upgrading SWP Renji?

I plan on getting  Nel some day and as I am f2p  i won't be able to get anyone after her. Also Renji is the only partner I will be able to upgrade. But I have doubts about his usefullness when I hit lvl 95. How is he compared to tavern partners at that level? I am lvl 73.

I also want to know if upgrading Shin Renji is worth it, or saving the coins for someone else. Someone like Kenpachi.

Renji doesn't seem too bad compared to Kenpachi.
Kenpachi his growth rate is 300% vs 180% from Renji, and Renji has 25% extra attack and 25% extra crit, 25% extra crit is pretty useful for low VIP.
Renji's mods do seem nice though, not sure if they are hard to obtain.

I guess it really depends how much silver you have.. It seems to me that you have "good" but you can get "a little bit better" lol

so, i have shin renji and am starting it modify him.  if i have a 1 or 2 star modify on him when i make him soo renji, does he loose those mods, and if so can i save the modify coupons for after i make him soo?   to clarify, if i get the coupons when he is shin, can i stilll use them when he is soo?  thanks
