High Vip get lv4 packs.
Low Vip or f2p get lv3 pack or single, depend on your needs.
If you are planning on spending gold for spirit stones,
Event such as Uruhara shop will be helpful for you, since it return 150% of coupon the amount of gold you spend.
Unless you need these stone urgently, I would suggest to keep your gold and wait for better events.
I think singles are generaly better, because some of the jade in the packs isn't needed in that high amounts, like Dodge for example.
What I like to do in UN is use singles to complet upgrades of single spirit stones that I got for free.
Another good use of gold is the 5 gold it costs to add 1 challenge chance for Arena thats 100-200 Prestige for just 5 gold and will pile up in the long run if you do it.
Also try to always have some coups or gold saved up for daily tasks, but don't go crazy if you can't complet it without going broke you just can't, better luck next day!
Does it make sense to get this purple weapon with the 50 gold from a quest? Or should I still get spirit stones?
And is there a way to somehow get gold without cashing?
