Are Higher Lvl Spirit Stones Better?

Are higher lvl spirit stones better? I ask because I had 2 lvl 2 stones and I synthesized them to lvl 3 but it took my total battle power down.

You get less percent after lvl 2. Say two gems give 6% combined it only give 4.5%.

But if you have more gems then you can equip then is it worth combining.

They are better but not if you synthesize them with the only stones you have. for example if you are going to synthesize two level 4 stones to make a level 5 at least have a level four waiting to replace the other one so you wont lose power but if you don't have anything to replace the other spot opened then you will actually be weaker in the end.

its like this Block increases the chance of your character blocking opponents attacks and counter decreases the chance of opponents landin crits on your character...

Ok got it. So when the opponent hits you and it deflects back that's because of the block stones and basically the counter stone decreases the chances of them hitting you with a critical hit.

Renji because you'll use him till lvl 80 and he'll increase your silver income in ES and Ryoka [which are the main source of silver]
