No, you get the full 8% bonus with a 1k top up. You get the 8% up to 4999. If you make a 5k gold top up you get 12%. If you make a 9k top up you get a 12 %. If you make a 10k top up, it's 15%. If you make a top up of 19,998 it's 15%.
You said you had to top up 5k to get the 8%. Which is not true.

Need to topup 5k in a day to get x % bonus.
