It's called Limited Lease. You can rent for 1 day, 3 days or 7 days at a time. After the time expires, they will show up in you partner list, but you wont be able to use them unless you renew the lease or pay in full. Each time you renew the lease, it takes off their total price to being owned permanently.
Most events have partners you can get. Are you looking for a certain partner? Or do you mean an event you can rent a partner without actually paying full price like the Limited Lease event?
