I never used ichigo myself since its EXP wasted on a purely PvP partner, just suggesting to people to use him, that want specifically PvP formations.

And Renji is fine, i've been using him since 60, trying to move on to Ikkaku at the moment, next on my list, but i am not sure whenever to use renji or rangiku after i do get him, but i've noticed that Rangiku's damage fluctates a lot because of her crit dependance, unless you have good crit stones.
And i know how defense works, if the nubmers are equal, they cancel each other out and you do no damage, but still - assaulters are squishy and 5% doesn't play much of a role unless you have maxed gears on them.

The question is what 5 % strat def from? All strategy def on partner or basic str def.
I hope that it's the first one.
Now I'm catching myself at reasonableness of updrading Chado to tier 2, which'll provide str def bonus as well.
If it costs? Especially. when I'm 66 and Sajin is sooooo near.

You 'ld upgrade your renji anyway. Just for having access to 3rd and 4th tiers. They 're pretty good (10 % crit rate and 5 % dmg rate).
So do just do it!

Defense helps in PvP to btw, incase you wasn't aware. Not sure if you know how all that works, but I'm to tired to go into great detail explaining it. To each his own I say, I could care less what the low BP's do to themselves when they don't take advice from higher players.

Anywho, good luck with Renji. Thank god you moved on from Ichigo. Atleast you listened to that.

If he is lower than you in BP, you should be able to have more agi than him to one shot him first, so it rarely makes a difference, but hey - having more defense is useful in PvE at-least.

And i got a mod for renji mainly because, its a bit of free damage, since i will not be getting Kepnachi for a while still, to replace Renji, seeing as i am lv87 and as i would need 2700 reishi.

Yeah, not if he is way higher BP. But if he is lower than you, or equal. You'd be surprised. I'll eek out every little bit of defense I can get, at any level.
