Wow. At first i thought you were Ares but now i see that Namori is that. The picture in my mind of ...
Been debating if I should reply or not as I honestly cant see where this thread will go. Even with the bumps, it wont get a response. Hell they dont even respond to game breaking or financial issues let alone this.
I don't know if your picture of me changing is a good thing or not, heh, but what the hell I get the impression that in real terms we both adults here so it does not really matter much that.
I am glad you seem to realise that using the strongest team you can get (in my case it was group with Mitsui/Namori) and in your case (Black/Naito) is not about "hiding behind" but about maximising your chances of progress. And that sometimes you have to take the option of avoiding fighting other people in order to achieve your own goals. Not the way I like to play but unfortunately there a huge gulf between success and failure in most things which means it something that has to be done. Just like unfortunately I have to hide outside the Top8 currently because I am trying to catch up with people in levels and so need slaves as 1m free xp a day is too much to miss out on by placing myself where I should be. Also I just refuse to be Naito's slave, especially due to his needless insults.
Getting a good strong guild is the best goal possible, though activity is generally more important then actual player strength. No point having strong players if they do not join the events. I consolidated my active players into Elmgar's guild simply because they have a good policy of "As long as you active and contribute, we will have you with us". Means I could join them to strengthen my position whilst also keeping the others with me. I noticed that Arrancar's have been stubborn and not consolidated which has helped the only strong Quincy guild (probably got just about all the active players in it from the clan tbh).
One the annoying things though. if you remove inactive people, you lose their guild contributions and you can end up in massive negative Assets value and take forever to get out of it. Sets a guild back alot to remove an old player that goes inactive.
I agree though, there no way that the likes of us can compete with Wis and Naito (Tsuji/Rempit/Mitsui also can come into that i guess). But it is a long term goal to try and slowly creep up on them. I have set my account up to be pretty good in PvP (Black out of reach still, but gaining. maybe soon), however it puts me ahead of you in PvE by quite a distance currently which helps close gaps. For instance, with my latest rejig of setup I can now 1hit upto and including wave 9 of ryoka so unless i get bad luck on the damn epic chests I get a decent amount of rewards before the "big boys" (wis/naito/mitsui/rempit/tsuji) take control of the event. On a good day I can get about 20-25 kills, which yes is down alot compared to if it was the old EU25 where i could kill 2 per wave from the 20th wave area) but it still respectable.
All I can say is set yourself an achievable goal and work towards that. And reassess it regularly to see if it can still be achieved.
Just to give you an example. My current task was to reach the ability to 1shot upto wave 10 of the ryoka. My last partner purchase basically achieved that for me. Now I am trying to decide what the new goal is. Though I want to reach the ability to beat Black 100% of the time I think that shouldn't be the target yet. Currently I think I need to clear floor 30 of the 85 palace (would do it with a bit of luck, but meh), and to reach lvl 95 where I may then start saving my vitality for a free zunpukto/partner in one of the ultimate BP events. As such focus is on how to level quickest, which generally means I need to focus on overal team power ahead of strengthening my main only.
They are never going to unmerge servers. too many things have changed with the fact that guilds have combined etc and unless they transfered every player to the server of their choice within the unmerged servers then things would be screwed totally up. So at this point you got to decide if you can cope with the game in its current situation or not.
