Free to play only server?

Just a random idea I thought would appeal to most of the players that cannot fund their characters. I think it would be a great success in both the gameplay and social departments. Server 20 anyone?

top ups on each server makes 5x times more than the money used to make the server...

Free servers means no money, no money means they can afford servers & what not to have the amazing game that you play. So you really have to think about certain things before asking for a free to play server.

Actually this is an awesome idea , they can make free servers like fast rounds or something where the top1-2-3 for each thing BP,Arena etc.. can get a reward on thier own server .
would be a competitive server for new ideas .
BUT they gotta add exp rate and stuff cuz say the fast server round lasts for 1-2 weeks or something?

They could never make any money off of a free to play server though could they, and ultimately that's what they're in the business of doing. These type of games release mass amounts of servers because people like spending money to get ahead, and if there is too much competition they can easily switch and try again (even if they spent money on another server previously people will switch) This creates massive revenue so they open more servers and so on so forth. If they opened a Free to play only server naturally 80% of the player base who don't spend any money would just play there, and the money spenders wouldn't spend as much because there would be less competition and less "E-peen" to be gained when there aren't as many players on the server. What the point of being top 10 if there's only 20 players on your server.

It would be cool to have but I think a more realistic type of sever they could/should open would be a subscription based one, one where you pay 10-15 a month but there is no gold on these servers and everything can be gained through silver, or you get a daily allowance of coupons (like using Bleach Fund)

TLDR: These games are paid for by the 20% who pay to play them and making a Free to player server would lose to much money.

Personally if I were in the developers shoes, I wouldn't make a free to play server only for a few different reasons. 1. Hosting servers costs lots of money as well as developing the game. 2. People would always want to top up to get ahead of everyone else. It would sound like a good idea if hosting the servers weren't costing money because it'd give all players and equal chance at everything.
