Is it true that if you register for csb without your full team you get put with people who have similar bp to the formation your originally registered with?

yes, but you only pretty much do it if you're too high in BP for your level in a way.

E.g i have to do it because im going up against lvl 110-120's while im only a lvl 95 (when i was in CSB, now 97), and i couldnt clear at least 1/2 enemies, so if you're having trouble to be able to clear 1 row, then do it

a lot of people think that way and end up with a bunch of super strong people.

I have a different question about CSB. Does anyone know how they pick the groups for it? Is it just a few servers above and below or what?

It seems to be slightly random. I was previously paired with a few servers that were about 40 servers away. I'm now paired with servers just a few weeks to a month older than my own.
