This is for PVP and to kind of give me an idea on who will be better long term/end game, cause I'm not planning on topping up much anymore. My current formation is H.Ichigo - Isshin - Main - Yama - Hikifune (T1) with Senbonzakura as my zan. I won't replace Hiki, but am considering going to a 1-2-2. I'm open to suggestions for other partners outside of the ones I've listed.

I also have about 1,000 universal fragments if mods will make a difference on decision

"none overly expensive" that's the definition of Demon Ichigo.

If you want to stay 1-3-1 B.Renji is pretty good I've heard.
If you want to go 2-2-1, maybe Senju? She's really good. Oetsu is not a bad choice either, but I'd only get him if you run in to a lot of vanguard stackers.

Or you could wait and see what the sternritters are like.

I was thinking the same, but do you think any of the sternritters will be ~12k gold when they first come out? Id be shocked probably if that was the case

wait and see. till then get ur stones/treasure/hogu levelled up so it can be swapped later on

I have 2 choice for u:
1. recruit Oetsu Nimaiya, but u need to build him T1 too. with Hiki, Oetsu is the best Assassin in PVP as if they have Kukuka. but u need to build Hiki and oetsu that can survive from enemy in 1 hit coz hiki is slower than Senjumaru and Shy Nemu at the moment. (this is my team at the moment, and it's hard to win against senjumaru that faster than hiki)

2. recruit Senjumaru and Muramasa Zampakuto at least, that have bond with Hiki, so ur senjumaru can fast and give fury to Hiki that can make u have more chance to win in PVP. Anyway, senjumaru is good in PVE too by set up Senjumaru (1st hit), Hiki (2nd hit) , Cute orihime (3rd) , main, and Isshin that can boost all partner T1 by use less fury stone.
