mostly try to cosplay someone that matches a character from the anime you like, so you will be more comfortable in it and could even walk into the character's shoes.

if you do something just random, it will be like a fancy dress competition, but for cons you have the privilege to walk around, click pics , attend cosplay competitions etc.
