Do the bond training and get as many stars as possible, Then in bond training tab u can find two option from which u can get bond skill fragments which are based on the number of stars u got in bond training.
Then in INBATTLE tab u can use those bond skill fragments to get extra attribs for ur main.

I only do daily tasks and I always miss the events, only able to do them on weekends.

The thing is the more stars u have the more the bond skill fragments u can get from daily training ...

So, those attributes will only take effect, if that gold partner is in my formation?  Does that gold partner have to be in my formation to get those extra attributes?

If I remove that partner from my formation, let's say because of events, do I lose the attributes?

Yea gold and above quality partner need to be in formation for extra attribs to be in effect

Got a bit more questions, if you can kindly answer.  

1. Do I need to get the stars first on stages before doing upgrades on partners?

2. On the lower tab, the attribute part, where it says aid, I put gold partners there to aid my gold partners in battle formation.  The partners that appear below my battle partner, those stats, will those stats apply to my battle partner or the partner below?
For example, below ikkaku there's 3 partners.  coyote stark is one of them  and on him it says there's a chance to increase attack by 20%.  Will that skill/attribute be applied to coyote or ikkaku?

1. yea u'll need stars not directly but indirectly they will help a lot in getting more bond skill frags which are needed for upgrades.
2. the attribs will apply on ikkaku.

One last thing because I see I may have bothered you very much.  I'm stuck with 5th stage 2nd star because it says I need 2 female partners to survive and I need 2 male partners to survive.  My team is retsu onohana, rukia, main, ikkaku and sajin.  I beat it but still it doesn't give me a star, why?
