Both. They both pick up off the other one.
The 3rd one "Tokyo Ghoul Re" is still underway in being released. Can't wait for it, because the season 2 ending just... ended leaving almost everything uncomplete.

If the guys you do it with are strong enough the fights go twice as fast, 3 rounds instead of 6 with one hit in each round. If two do it, which is what I usually go for. And can force ready to not having to wait for slow people.

IMO it was a very good anime. The story is awesome and the action is good as well.
Though the ending... just ends. Leaving mostly everything unexplained, though the 3rd season should pick up where it left off.
