Pretty short IIRC.. some rumors about a season 2 but doubt it.
It's worth a watch if youre into romance and typical anime love stuff.

The anime has 26 episodes and the manga is already finished so there won't be a second season.

It's not really about maids. It is about romance anime, where the heroine is secretly a worker at a Maid Cafe, which she tries to hide from the people at her school, because she is the first female Student Council President at a formerly all-boys school and she fears that if her secret were to come out her image would be destroyed.

If you are a fan of the romance genre you should give Kaichou wa Maid-Sama a try. Both MC's are pretty awesome and it's interesting to watch their interactions.

Any preferences or dislikes in genres/in general ? What have you already watched ? How did you like the anime you already watched ?

These are my favorite anime :  No Game No Life(Fantasy), Haikyuu!!(Sport), Kaichou wa Maid-Sama(Romance), Barakamon(SoL). I enjoyed all of them and I'd recommend giving all of these a try, but if you answer the questions above I could make better recommendations.

I'm pretty open to trying out a variety.  I do prefer more fantasy and present or near future story lines vs extremely far in the future
I liked fairy tail, bleach, SAO, fruit basket, lengendary heroes..

You might like No Game No Life, Mondaiji-Tachi and the currently airing Dungeon ni Deai for the fantasy aspect.

For near future story lines you might enjoy Psycho-Pass it's an Utopian/Dystopian anime.

And some others you might enjoy :
