Yeah, but Byakuya's growth rates and base... :/

Hisagi would probably do better with all his mods and shit.

What I picture is lvl 100 skill Senjumaru, lvl 100 skill Hisagi, lvl 100 skill Berserk Renji, and regular Retsu Unohana Kenpachi. That would be insane.

Hisagi has 200% less skill growth rate, and no crit damage on fortify. There is no way he does better mathematically.

If you run Senjumaru, you need to run 3 supporters. Waste otherwise.

Aside from mugetsu, tavern partners get the best upgrades. Kisuke is a lot better, Byakuya, Ishida, etc.

There was an update to their translation of Senjumaru's lvl 100 skill.

SENJU : attack 2 random enemies 180%, definitely cast chaos on one of the the 2 for 1 round and reduce 50 fury, give own assault 70% atk and combo rate for 1 round, recover own fury by 70
HISAGI : ATTACK RANDOM ENEMY 300% RECOVER OWN FURY BY 100 INCREASE OWN ATTACK AND DAMAGE RATE  BY 30%

Whether Byakuya would be better, I still find debatable. That's a drastic difference in strength growth and base. It's what makes my Retsu Unohana 400k attack (using a maxed Death Lord Assist Mod in addition, mind you) while my Berserk Renji is 500k, and Retsu is way better in growth than Byakuya. Hisagi's mods, bonds, and evolution can also in total potentially boost his total damage by about an additional 113% or more, and he has better general use with his agility. Maybe Byakuya could be a little better dmg wise. I dunno without testing, but I wouldn't waste that much time on a partner I'm not sure about. It's all a matter of whether 4 hits of Hisagi is better than 6 hits of Byakuya at their peak.

If I understood how they calculated growth, maybe I could give a better answer, but I don't.

It's good the tavern partners get good upgrades. I still would avoid most of them because of their low growths, but it gives free players a better chance to dream, I guess.

As Rythen explained shield growth,

the shield has 1% growth rate of his max HP if you don't do that damage the shield will stay (does not absorb damage)

same with Yhwach's shield it has a growth rate of 30%

So basically, you just need to tap Mayuri to get rid of his shield as it is right now. lol.
