Expired Event Titles

How is it that some people can switch back to a title that expired months back, and retain the stats with them?
If the title is expired I know I can't equip it.
There's a person on one of the servers I play on who has gone from 'Lighting Emissary' to 'Angels Bell' then back to 'Lighting Emissary' then after the event with Senbon as the reward they had 'Family Reunion' then went back to 'Lighting Emissary' how is it they're able to do this?

some of em didn't use it. the title cd will not expire until you start wearing it.

This is just one person, and they had the title on for more then two weeks. They then switched to another title, then switched back. We used the first title at the same time, and mine is still worn out. I cannot re-equip it.
The title only lasts 9 days, they do not have a refresh option, nor can you get them permanently. They are temporary event titles that are given away during various events in the game.

Lighting Emissary for instance was from Thanksgiving.
Angels Bell was from Christmas.

I also know from exp that if you remove the title after activating it, the timer still goes down, and if you use the item to add the title to your list, even if you don't use it the timer goes down.

It'd be pretty messed up if they are, mainly because they actually take part in events and what not on the server we're on. It wouldn't exactly be fair if they were an employee taking advantage of the system like that.

They were taking space in my bag so i used them. and changed back to Tripple Crown
