the zanpakuto arc wasnt cannon. but that wont stop kubo form keeping the same designs he did since he was the one who made them which we see with shunsui's bankai we see katen.

those spirits we saw was asauchi.  her friend's. she didnt properly release her zanpakuto which means they arent her zanpakuto and all and with everything it makes sense yachiru is his zanpakuto since she was alway with him and well. with the recent chapter of what she is saying to him. so. o3o everyone who wants to be pissy and say she isnt they are flat dead wrong on that.

Maybe she meant use her as his lieutenant?? he's always really protected her and told her to keep away from fights, so by saying that he never used her is just her saying he never let her fight, and maybe her power is a support type that would give him buffs...lol who knows, just guessing.

There would be a heck of a lot more questions that'd need answering if she is his 'real' sword...
