Well, i would say that as long as you can survive doing a bit less damage pve then go for it, but only merge till you can get 90%.
After  the 90%, split it between your assaulters and build them up again

Uhh that seems to be the most logical thing to do with stones long way to go to %90 but i'll get there in time lol
And about removing,what would you remove from there? Besides wisdom stones? And dont consider sockets for now,i'll do them later

To make an effective starrk, i would only remove wisdom, i would then stack the stones(This is why it is crucial to be have a lot of stones when using starrk)
Stack them up to lvl 10/11, so that you only need 5 block stones and 5 dodge stones and 5 counter stones to max their stats out, then you can use the rest of the not used slots for hitrate, crit and brk def ^^

IMO, stones for Starrk..
6x Strength
6x Stamina
6x Block (max 90%)
6x Hit (max 225%)
3x Break D
3x Crit
3x Wis
3x Counter

of course this only applies to high level stones, with lesser stones, drop the wis and counter for Break D and crit...   also i have to admit, I have never used a vanguard as fragile (def wise) as Starrk, so the counter stones may be more needed than i'm giving them credit

PVE gives better rewards...  plus block stones over 90% are wasted

Oh okay then i'll just remove assaulters blocks right now,they are really low now lol
