Except in this case it does matter since all AsunaChidori is doing is subtracting and adding 250 from each of the previous numbers that have been posted. Their method assumed that the person was off by exactly $300. So whereas the method you stated would have them making about another 7000 posts to post every one of them, Asuna's method only has about another 900 posts to go. But Asuna's method also might not have the number in there, whereas the method you stated would for certain have the number.
